Rookie running back Tyler Varga (Kitchener, Ont.) has been named to the first-team all-star list as well as guard Matt Norman (Chateauguay, Que.) and offensive tackle Brendan Dunn (Burlington, Ont.) who helped create space for the Mustangs run game. Punter Darryl Wheeler (Hamilton, Ont.) joins his mates on the first-team after topping the leader board with an average of 41.3 yards per punt. The remaining first-team all-star receivers are a talented group with Dustin Zender (Kitchener, Ont.) of the Waterloo Warriors at the wide receiver spot. Inside receiver Jordan Brescacin (Tecumseh, Ont.) highlights the Windsor Lancers offence while Lauriers Dillon Heap (Waterloo, Ont.) rounds out the receivers. Heap has also been named the first-team all-star at the kick return position after breaking the OUA record for career punt return yardage. Rounding out the offensive first-team all-stars are centre Mike Sullivan and OUA leading rusher Ryan Granberg (Sherwood Park, Alta.) who represent the Queens offence. The Queens defence put up one of the best seasons in recent memory and five members of the group responsible for not allowing a rushing touchdown all season have been named to the first-team all-star list. Defensive end Osie Ukwuoma (Mississauga, Ont.) finished the year with 27 total tackles, including a league best 12 tackles for loss. John Miniaci (Toronto) was a force at defensive tackle while SAM linebacker Sam Sabourin (Stittsville, Ont.) followed up his rookie of the year campaign with another solid season. Cornerback Andrew Lue (Markham, Ont.) and cover Frank Pankewich (Thunder Bay, Ont.) round out the Gaels defensive first-team representatives. Like many aspects of their game, the Windsor Lancers defence stepped up this year and have three first-team all-stars to their credit. Defensive half Matt McGarva (Surrey, B.C.) led the defensive unit and tallied 48 total tackles on the year, good for fifth in the league. Accompanying him on the first-team are defensive tackle Seamus Postuma (Thunder Bay, Ont.) and cornerback Shea Pierre (Mississauga, Ont.). The McMaster defence is led by first-team all-stars Ryan Chmielewski (St. Catharines, Ont.) at the linebacker position and safety Michael Daly (Kitchener, Ont.) who led the conference with five interceptions. Westerns defensive half Beau Landry (Kitchener, Ont.) led the team with 38 tackles this season and defensive end David Lee (London, Ont.) finished with 28.5 tackles with 10.5 of those for losses. Both players have been named to the first-team all-star squad. Wilkerson DeSouza (Mississauga, Ont.) is Torontos first player since 2008 to be named to the first-team all-star team. His 48.5 total tackles at the linebacker position was good for third in the league. In addition to the two offensive first-team all-stars, the Queens Gaels pick up four more nods on the second-team. Offensive tackle Josh Prinsen (Kingston, Ont.) and guard Derek Morris (Napanee, Ont.) earn all-star status along with punter Dan Village (Abbotsford, B.C.) and kick returner Giovanni Aprile (Toronto). Aprile accumulated 365 return yards on just 10 carries for a league best 36.5 average per return. The Ottawa Gee-Gees boast three offensive second-team all-stars. Running back Brendan Gillanders (Orleans, Ont.) finished third in the league with 767 rushing yards and picks up his first all-star award. Inside receiver Simon Le Marquand (Gatineau, Que.) had an outstanding season, finishing with 57 receptions and 867 yards, good for second in each category, and has been named to the second-team for his performance. Guard Taylor Servais (Cornwall, Ont.) has also been named to the second-team. For the second consecutive year, Lauriers Shamawd Chambers (Markham, Ont.) has been named to the second-team at the wide receiver position. He is joined by offensive tackle Donnie McKenzie (Georgetown, Ont.) and rookie place kicker Ronnie Pfeffer (Kitchener, Ont.) on the second-team all-star squad. An unknown coming into this year, Windsor quarterback Austin Kennedy (Windsor, Ont.) has made a name for himself and has earned second-team all-star status. He finished tied for the league and nation lead with 20 touchdown passes and had a league best 65.1 percent completion rate. He is joined by wide receiver Cory Fernandes (Mississauga, Ont.) on the second-team. Rounding out the second-team offensive all-stars are centre Elliott Montag (Georgetown, Ont.) and inside receiver Matt Peressini (Ancaster, Ont.) from McMaster, and running back Nathan Riva (LaSalle, Ont.) from Western. Turning to the defence, defensive tackle George Kourtesiotis (Toronto) and linebacker Sam Aird (Ancaster, Ont.) from Laurier close out their five year careers with second-team all-star awards. Also earning second-team recognition from Laurier is SAM linebacker Mitchell Bosch (Langley, B.C.). The Queens defence picks up two more all-stars with defensive end Derek Wiggan (Toronto) and defensive half T.J. Chase-Dunawa (Toronto) earning second-team status.
