Jake Matthews Lights Out Jersey . -- Stephen Curry had 25 points and eight assists, helping Golden State build a 19-point first-quarter lead before sitting out the final 12 minutes of the Warriors 113-95 win over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. David Lee added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Klay Thompson had 14 points for the Warriors, who have won five straight over the Pistons. Curry scored 12 points as part of a 19-4 run in the third quarter then sat out the entire fourth quarter when Golden State coach Mark Jackson emptied his bench. Detroits Andre Drummond had 16 points and 14 rebounds for his second straight double-double and fourth in seven games. The Warriors had lost the final two games on their recent road trip before opening a three-game home stand by blowing out the Pistons. Golden State led by as many as 29 points, shot 60 per cent for the game and outrebounded Detroit 43-34. That helped offset 23 turnovers, 22 of them over the final three quarters. The Pistons did a better job protecting the ball than the Warriors, but went just 3 of 18 from beyond the arc and lost their fourth straight and fifth in six games. Golden State jumped on Detroit early. Lee made his first four shots and Thompson and Curry added seven points apiece, while Jermaine ONeal scored on back-to-back trips down the court to give the Warriors a 35-16 lead to end the first quarter. The Pistons, coming off a loss in Portland on Monday, looked sluggish most of the evening and trailed by double digits the rest of the way. A driving layup by Andrew Bogut made it 54-35, and Lee took a behind-the-back pass from Andre Iguodala and dunked to push the Warriors lead to 21. Lee also scored on a putback with 5 seconds remaining to make it 62-41 at halftime. Thompson opened the second half with 3-pointer before the Pistons went on an 11-2 run to cut the gap to 67-52. Currys jumper from just inside the 3-point line stopped the slide and Thompson followed with a layup. Curry was just getting started. He scored 12 points as part of a 19-5 run midway through the third quarter, including a reverse layup after a 360-degree spin around Greg Monroe at the top of the key. Curry later capped the run with an assist to Harrison Barnes, whose dunk increased the Warriors lead to 86-57. Detroit pulled within 13 in the fourth quarter against mostly reserves but couldnt get any closer. Monroe had 15 points for the Pistons and reserve Will Bynum had 14. Then a call that you could argue was not a good one, a team struggling on the PK and its 2-0, and it seemed the Jets lost some of their fight. The bad part was no response in the second period as the Panthers on a delayed penalty call and a power play made it a 4-0 game, holding the Jets to just 10 shots. In one stretch from the first to the second the Jets went 23 minutes without a shot on goal. Not good enough. Third period enter Peter Mannino. He has been with the team since the injury at the start of the road trip to Chris Mason. In the third, the Jets were very good. They outshot the Panthers 17-5, and made it a game, but it was not enough. An empty netter by Versteeg and he had his first NHL hat trick. Eric Fehr has been cleared for contact, so that is a step in the right direction. But with so little practice time it will be tough to get that contact. They may have to draw up some drills simply to get him some contact. It was great to see a number of ex-NHLers at the game on Thursday. They were in town for Mike Keanes celebrity hockey day. Bryan Little won 75% of his faceoffs. That after a couple of tough outings against the Rangers and Sabres. Jim Slater had 6 shots on goal, Dustin Byfuglien played 24:44.
