HOUSTON -- Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub hopes he can return this season from a foot injury, though he acknowledges "it doesnt look good. Martin St.Louis Authentic Jersey ." Schaub hurt the Lisfranc joint in his right foot in the second quarter of Sundays 37-9 win in Tampa Bay. He stayed in the game, but only threw three passes in the second half. Coach Gary Kubiak called the injury "significant" and Schaub said on his weekly radio appearance with KILT-AM on Tuesday that his foot "is not visibly looking too good." Schaub said he will meet with more doctors over the next week. "When you look at it, its pretty colourful and everything," Schaub said. "Its pretty sore and beat up right now. But were going to search out some other opinions and just do as much as we can to get it right here in the near future to see what can happen." Schaub said the injury occurred when his foot got caught underneath new Tampa Bay defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth on a quarterback sneak when the Texans were backed up near their own goal-line. "I didnt really know how bad it was," Schaub said. Kubiak said the Texans will determine by next week if Schaub would return this year. If doctors tell him that surgery is necessary, Schaub said hell "probably" be out for the rest of the season. But hes hoping to find other courses of treatment that would speed his recovery. "Im not one to give in to something like this that easily," Schaub said. "It doesnt look good. My foot is pretty much the size of a cinder block right now." One certainty, Schaub said, is that doctors have told him he can play again. "Its not career-ending," Schaub said. "No way." The AFC South-leading Texans (7-3) have a bye week before their final six regular-season games. Matt Leinart will step into Schaubs role and make his first start since 2009 in Houstons next game, at Jacksonville on Nov. 27. Leinart was cut by Arizona and signed by Houston in September 2010. He didnt take a snap last season, but felt comfortable enough with Kubiak and the offence to return. "This isnt his first rodeo," Schaub said of his replacement. "Hes played some football in this league. He knows how to play the quarterback position. "Our time spent together here over the last year and a half, two years, hes definitely prepared." The Texans acquired Schaub in a trade with Atlanta in March 2007, and hes started every game since the start of the 2009 season. Adding to Schaubs frustration now is that Houston has won four in a row and continues the best start in franchise history. "Its been really impressive to see the group really rally around one another," he said. "Over the course of the last five years, this organization has gone from what it was to what it is now, and a team thats atop the AFC. "Its just been impressive," Schaub said, "and Im extremely proud of the guys in the locker room, and what theyve been able to do. We just need to keep that going here." NASHVILLE -- The Arizona Cardinals keep pushing for a playoff spot, even if they barely pulled out their latest win. Still, the Cardinals (9-5) won their sixth in seven games. With San Francisco and Carolina winning, they remain a game back of both for a NFC wild-card berth. The Titans scored 17 points in the final 3:12 of regulation to force overtime with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing two of his four TD passes to Michael Preston. They also recovered an onside kick to set up the tying TD with 10 seconds left in regulation. They won the toss and drove to the Cardinals 43 before Antoine Cason intercepted his second pass of the game. Tennessee (5-9) lost its third straight and eighth in 10 games. The Titans also lost their fifth consecutive home game for the first time since moving to Tennessee in 1997. The Cardinals turned those mistakes into 13 points in a game with five lead changes. Arizona also made mistakes. The Cardinals didnt have a single penalty in the first half, but had four giving the Titans first downs on a 16-play drive by Tennessee for a TD and a 17-13 lead in the third quarter. Tennessee had won only once before this season when trailing going into the fourth quarter, losing seven other games. The Titans at least pushed this game to overtime with only a few thousand fans still left in the stadium because so many left when they fell behind 34-17. Munchak deactivated receivers Justin Hunter and Damian Williams for what team officials called violating team rules. The rookie Hunter was coming off the best game of his career and had topped 100 yards in two of the past three games. That forced the Titans to play Kenny Britt, and the veteran caught his first pass since Oct. 20. He finished with three catches. wholesale jerseyscheap jerseys ' ' '
