PHILADELPHIA -- As soon as warmups began, the familiar boos for Sidney Crosby reverberated through the arena. Nike Air Max 90 Billiga Rea . Flyers fans had long perfected that chorus against Philadelphias top antagonist. The sound grew louder after the final horn -- this time directed at the home team, the one buried in last place in the NHL. Crosby, Jussi Jokinen and Chris Kunitz scored goals, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins past the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Thursday night. The Penguins were the latest team to stomp the cellar-dwelling Flyers. Off to their worst start after eight games, the Flyers are 1-7 and mired in last place, with only a miserable two points. Consider, the Flyers have had more head coaches (2) than wins (1) this season. "Weve got to start believing in each other, believing in ourselves, and going out and play hockey like we can," coach Craig Berube said. Clearly, the coaching switch from Peter Laviolette, fired after an 0-3 start, to Berube isnt working. Evgeni Malkin added an empty-net goal in the final seconds, and Marc-Andre Fleury made an early lead stand with 24 saves. Fleury is 6-0 and has more wins than all but one team in the East. "He looks strong the whole season. He looked strong in the game," Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma said. All the Penguins looked strong against the Flyers. The Penguins outplayed them from the opening faceoff, and nearly doubled the Flyers in shots through two periods. Crosby, who has 29 career goals against the Flyers, has a career-best, seven-game point streak to start the season. Unlike their cross-state rivals, the Penguins (6-1) are riding high atop the East. "Its nice to get rewarded early on, and to build some confidence and momentum," Crosby said. Wayne Simmonds had the lone goal for the Flyers, who have yet to score more than two in a game this season. The Penguins grabbed control for good in the second period, taking shot after point-blank shot at Steve Mason. At one point, the Penguins camped out in the Philadelphia zone and held a 20-8 shots advantage. Sprawled on the ice, Mason made two straight fantastic saves against Matt Kiskanen and Deryk Engelland. Again, the Flyers couldnt generate offence. Matt Read made a sweet steal at the blue line and took off on a breakaway but then whiffed from the circle. He slammed his stick against the boards on his shift change. The Flyers later failed on three attempts to clear the puck, and Jokinen pounced, scoring his fourth goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. Jokinen scored on Pittsburghs 22nd shot. The punchless Flyers didnt attempt their first shot of the second until 10 1-2 minutes in. "When youre only scoring one goal a game, its tough to win hockey games," Mason said. Kunitz punched in a rebound with 7:45 left for a 2-0 lead. Yet, as badly as they were outplayed, the Flyers hung tight. Simmonds screened Fleury and redirected Claude Girouxs shot with 2 seconds left to make it 2-1 and end Philadelphias 0 for 18 power-play skid. Giroux has had a miserable season and hasnt scored a goal. As captain, Giroux has taken the public stand that the Flyers can still turn around the season. "Tonight is going to be a game to bring the fans back on our side and show them were a good team and can win games," he said after the morning skate. So much for that. "Obviously, thats how I felt," Giroux said. "I think if we would have won that game, it would have been a big turning point. But it didnt happen." Crosbys tip-in with 2:32 left for his sixth goal of the season sealed the win. Giroux hooked Malkin only 1:01 into the game, and the Flyers were whistled for two penalties in the opening 6 minutes. Simmonds misfired on an open net, and Jakub Voracek got cute on an open look and failed on a backhander when he could have flicked in the puck. The Penguins won 12 of 20 faceoffs in the first, and dominated the rest of the way. About the only reason for Flyers fans to cheer came in the second intermission when the public address announcer said an assist had been taken away from Crosby. He entered with an NHL-high 12 points (five goals, seven assists). Crosby, though, got the point back. "You really just focus on your work ethic and making sure youre committed to doing what you need to do every night," Crosby said. "Sometimes, it doesnt work out that way, especially early on. But we found a way to win games for different reasons." NOTES: Flyers D Kimmo Timonen sustained a lower-body injury late in the second and didnt return. ... The Penguins have scored at least three goals in every game this season. Nike Air Max 90 Herr Billigt .Va. -- Drew Brees stood on the sideline throughout the Saints first scrimmage of training camp on Saturday, resting a strained abdominal muscle on his left side and likely watching with envy as his backups cashed in on the big-play potential of rookie receiver Brandin Cooks. Nike Air Max 90 Herr .J. -- The New York Giants are not only back in the playoff hunt with a four-game winning streak, theyre calling the plays that get them those wins. ABBOTSFORD, B.C. -- Phil McRae has awfully soft hands for the son of a former NHL tough guy. The Apple Valley, Minn., product scored a goal and added two assists as the Peoria Rivermen beat the Abbotsford Heat 5-0 in American Hockey League action Sunday afternoon. McRaes father, Basil McRae, accumulated almost 2,500 penalty minutes in his 16-year pro career along with 53 NHL goals. The younger McRae may only have one NHL goal on his resume, but the 21-year-old showed Sunday that hes got the talent to become a star. He has 21 goals for the Rivermen this season. "Hes improved his defensive game this season and weve been trying to use him a little bit more in that role, because that might be a spot he moves into in the NHL," said Rivermen head coach Jared Bednar. "But he certainly has the talent. Hes got a really great shot and when he gets a chance around the net he tends to bury it. I thought he had a better than average spring in his step tonight, skated very well and thats how he got his opportunities." Jake Allen made 32 saves for his first shutout of the season. "The difference at the end of the day, the reason the score looked as bad as it did, was our goalie," Bednar said. "I thought he was extremely strong. Jake was just exceptional for us this weekend." Allen stopped 39 shots in a 4-1 Peoria win over the Heat on Friday. Shaun Heshka, Adam Cracknell, Brett Sonne and Stefan Della Rovere also scored for Peoria (34-26-3), who has now won three straight to move past Abbotsford (32-24-6) into fifth in the tight Western Conference, where just three points separate fourth from 10th. Patrick OSullivan had one helper, giving him eight points in four games since joining the Rivermen on loan. Allen made 11 third-period stops, but perhaps his flashiest save coming with eight minutes left in second period when he snagged Akim Alius backhander off a dangerous rush. Danny Taylor stopped just 13 of 18 shots in the loss. "They were capitalizing on every chance," said Heat defenceman Clay Wilson. "Every scoring chance they scored. It was the opposite of what we had going. We haad a couple chances and we just couldnt bury them. Nike Air Max 90 Sverige. " The Rivermen opened the scoring on an ugly play at 9:14 of the first. With a delayed penalty coming, Evgeny Grachev threw a puck towards the net that ricocheted off Cracknell and in for his 19th of the year. The Rivermen made it 2-0 at 16:04 when Sonne deflected a shot by Heshka over the arm of Taylor for his eight of the season. It was his first goal since Jan. 14, a span of 23 games. "I had some family and friends come out," said Sonne, who is from nearby Maple Ridge. "You always want to play for them but at the same time you want to keep it simple and keep your head in the game." The scoring barrage continued just 56 seconds into the second with a highlight-reel goal. OSullivan threaded a pass to McCrae, who dangled two Abbotsford defenders before feeding a perfect backhand saucer pass to Della Rovere. The Rivermen went up 4-0 when Heshka scored on a rebound at 5:46. Cade Fairchilds shot was kicked out by Taylor but right to Heshka who had an open net to pot his third of the season. "Theyve got a lot of skilled players," Wilson said. "When they have an empty net, theyre going to find a home for the puck." McRae finished off the scoring with another highlight goal as he snaked through defenders and wired a shot top corner at 10:31. "Hes been a great key player for us all year," said Sonne of his teammate, who has six points in four games against the Heat this season. "Tonight was a good night for him but there are other little things hes done in the past few games that have helped out the team. Tonight it was putting pucks in the net." Peoria heads to Chicago to take on the Wolves in the third game of a five-game road trip. Abbotsford visits Houston Tuesday to being a four-game Texas trip. "The good thing about this league is we have a chance to bounce back in three days," said Abbotsfords Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, who had two fights in the game. "Its a long road trip. Its a good opportunity for us to get back to where we want to before the playoffs." wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
