SASKATOON -- Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was too excited to play a shift with his brother to worry about an exhibition loss. Jason Chimera Jersey . Toews played alongside his younger brother David in the Blackhawks 4-2 loss to an Edmonton Oilers split squad on Tuesday. "It was awesome. Hes one of those guys just getting his feet wet too," Jonathan Toews said. "That first shift was a lot of fun. It s something that doesnt happen to too many people." David Toews was drafted by the New York Islanders 66th overall in the third round of the NHL entry draft in 2008. He was traded to the Blackhawks earlier this month for future considerations. The Blackhawks are hoping he has the same intensity and work ethic as his older brother. Neither of the Toews brothers figured into the scoring, while young Oilers forward Jordan Eberle picked up where he left off. Eberle, who had five game-winning goals in his rookie campaign last season, scored the deciding goal against the Blackhawks. Eberle broke into Chicagos zone late in the third period and slipped the puck past Blackhawks netminder Alexander Salak. Josh Green scored twice, including an empty netter, and Ryan Smyth also scored for Edmonton. Rostislav Olesz and Jamal Mayers scored for Chicago. The Oilers other split squad fell 4-3 to Minnesota in Edmonton. Oilers netminder Devan Dubnyk made several saves early on to keep the game scoreless. Blackhawks veteran goaltender Ray Emery was equally impressive early on. After a uneventful first period, Smyth who put Edmonton on the board moments into the second. After some tic-tack-toe passing by the Oilers power-play unit, Smyth gobbled up a rebound to bury the first goal of the game. Taking a nifty pass from former Saskatoon Blades forward Curtis Hamilton Green stepped past the blue-line to fire a wrist shot past Emery and put the Oilers up 2-0. The Blackhawks finally got on the board late in the second period. Lingering alone in front of Edmontons net, Olesz was the recipient of a wayward pass in the Oilers defensive zone. Olesz quickly fired the puck past a stunned Dubnyk to bring Chicago within one midway through the second period. The Blackhawks tied the game when prospect Mark McNeill won a battle behind the Edmonton net and slid a pass to Mayers who quickly shot it past Dubnyk. The game marked the 17th pre-season encounter between Chicago and Edmonton. Historically the Oilers have emerged on top, leading the series 10-6 and outscoring Chicago 75-54. Jonathan Toews thought his team could have been a little more consistent against Edmonton. Despite Edmontons undisciplined play, Chicagos power play was lacklustre, failing to convert on five chances. "Its the first game for both teams. We made some good plays and a few sloppy plays both ways so you never know which way the game is going to go. We had our chances to win that one," Toews said. Chicago will now head to Pittsburgh on Thursday for an exhibition match with the Penguins, while the Oilers face the Vancouver Canucks in Edmonton the same night. Nicklas Backstrom Capitals Jersey .J. -- Thierry Henry and Lloyd Sam scored second-half goals to give the New York Red Bulls their first win of the season, 2-1 over the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night. Brooks Orpik . Tuesday nights 5-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox fit that category perfectly. Michael Bourns two-run double in the seventh inning snapped a 3-all tie and extended Clevelands winning streak to a season-high five straight games.PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- David Price didnt think he would be in Port Charlotte this spring. For much of the off-season, the Tampa Bay Rays ace expected to be traded. Instead, the 2012 AL Cy Young Award winner signed a one-year contract to remain with the only team hes ever played for, a huge deal for the small-market club. "It feels great. Everybody knows how much I love this organization and how much they love me. The way the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa have treated me over the course of six or seven years has been nothing short of incredible," Price said Saturday. "I love it here. Im very comfortable. This is home for me." Theres still a chance that Price could get traded before the end of the season, but he thinks each day in Port Charlotte makes it less likely. "Right now, I dont think theres a very good chance of being traded because Im here in spring training," he said. "I felt like if I could make it to spring training, that would solidify my place on this team." Price isnt the only member of the Rays happy to see him return. His teammates say his contributions to the warm clubhouse atmosphere are as important as the pitches he throws. Marcus Johansson. "David has a great arm," new Rays catcher Ryan Hanigan said. "Ive watched him pitch a lot. His performances speak for themselves. Hes a great clubhouse guy, too. I got a text from him when I signed just saying, Ill have (the pitchers) ready for you. Thats awesome. Hes a leader." Manager Joe Maddon suggested the uncertainty of where the looming off-season would take him weighed heavily on Price last season. He went 10-8 with a 3.33 ERA. Maddon expects Price will enjoy this season much more and could return to his form from 2012, when he went 20-5 with a 2.56 ERA. "I can definitely see him not as edgy," Maddon said. "Hes more comfortable here. He believes hes going to be here. Last year was a difficult year, coming off all the awards and coming back with all the uncertainty." If Price does return to that 2012 form, it could lead to something very big for the Rays. "We have a very solid team right now from our outfield to our infield, which is always packed with Gold Gloves," Price said. "I feel like we have a very competitive team right now. Everybody in here has very high hopes for us." cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' '
