Washington, DC (SportsNetwork. Giovani Dos Santos Mexico Jersey .com) - Alex Steen had two goals and an assist to guide the St. Louis Blues in a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and an assist, Dmitrij Jaskin lit the lamp, and T.J. Oshie added three assists for the Blues, who have won 10 of their last 11 with the only loss during that run an overtime defeat to Detroit on Jan. 15. Brian Elliott had 33 saves in the win. Alex Ovechkin scored twice and added a helper and Karl Alzner also scored for the Capitals, who have dropped six of their last seven. Justin Peters allowed all four goals on 40 shots. St. Louis drew first blood at 2:34 of the first period while on the power play. Oshies slap shot from the left point was stopped and Jaden Schwartz put the rebound on net. That was stopped as well, but Steen was there to put home the third chance for a 1-0 lead. Washington, though, answered near the midway mark of the first with a power- play goal of its own as sharp puck movement was finished off by a one-timer from Ovechkin from the left point. It was his 30th goal of the season, the 10th time in his 10 seasons that he has reached that mark. He became the fifth player in NHL history to accomplish that feat, joining Mike Bossy, Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri and Mike Gartner. Just over five minutes into the second, St. Louis David Backes was thrown out and given a five-minute major for boarding Alzner, but the Capitals were unable to take advantage of the long power play. A little after killing off the penalty, the Blues went on top when Steen scored his second of the game off his own rebound to finish off a rush play at 11:45. It was Ovechkin again, though, three minutes later as a turnover in the St. Louis end saw him get the puck at the left circle and fired a shot that tipped off a St. Louis stick and went in to tie the game. The Blues, though, took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission as Jaskin swept in a rebound during a scrum in front at 15:57. St. Louis grabbed a 4-2 lead at 6:13 of the third as a 2-on-1 saw Steen fire a pass from the left wing to the right where Tarasenko finished it off for his 25th goal of the season. The Caps made it a one-goal game with 7:32 to play as Alzner threw a shot on net from the left point that made its way past a maze of players for his fourth of the season. St. Louis, though, did a good job keeping the puck away from the Caps during the final minute, as Washington was unable to pull its goalie until late and couldnt net the equalizer. Game Notes St. Louis defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk left the game early with a lower-body injury ... Both teams were 1-for-3 on the power play ... St. Louis hosts Tampa Bay on Tuesday ... Washington hosts Los Angeles on Tuesday ... Nicklas Backstrom and Mike Green each posted two assists for the Caps. Adrian Ortola Barcelona .C. -- Gary Players upcoming ceremonial drive is the latest Masters honour in a career filled with them. Lucas Biglia Argentina Jersey . -- Dwyane Wade was a late scratch from the Miami Heats starting lineup against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night because of nerve irritation in his left foot, leaving his status for the All-Star game in doubt.MONTREAL - Shim Suk Hee of South Korea won gold and Canadas Valerie Maltais took the bronze medal in the womens 1,000-metre race Sunday at the world short track speed skating championship. However, Canadas top skater Charles Hamelin saw his chances for a first overall world championship title compromised when he was disqualified from a mens 1,000-metre semifinal for obstruction. Five-time overall world champion Victor An of Russia won the mens race ahead of Sjinkie Knegt of the Netherlands and Park Se Yeong of South Korea. Shim, a bronze medallist in the event three weeks ago at the Sochi Olympics, led South Korea to a one-two finish as she came in ahead of Park Seung-Hi. It was Shims second gold of the meet to go with her 1,500-metres win on Friday. Maltais, of La Baie, Que., edged Britains Elise Christie for third place. Christie led early but was forced to cut well inside the track by Shim and droppped back. Leandro Castan Roma FC. No foul was called. "That early on in the race its not a very sportsmanlike thing to do, but she did it and she got a medal for it," said Christie, who was penalized three times in Sochi for fouls. "It worked for her and unfortunatelty it didnt work for me." Hamelin was penalized when he tried to pass Chinas Shi Jingnan on the inside and lost balance, sending Shi and American Chris Creavling sprawling into the padded rink walls. Hamelins last shot at the title will come later Sunday in the 3,000-metres. He won the 1,500 and took bronze in the 500-metre earlier in the three-day championship. The relays are also later Sunday. American J.R. Celski looked to have a spot in the final locked up, but was eliminated when Knegt thrust a skate forward and beat him by two-1,000ths of a second. "It sucks, but it was a good race," said Celski. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
