The 76th Masters Tournament begins Apr. Cheap Jerseys Authentic . 5 at Augusta National Golf Club. TSN and TSN.ca have full coverage of the first major of the season, and to help get you set, we take a look at some of the big storylines surrounding the hunt for the Green Jacket. Today, we profile Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. As much as a new generation of stars have made major breakthroughs on the PGA Tour in the last few years, its funny how a venerable tournament like the Masters tends to bring the best out of veteran players and former Green Jacket winners. Memories of Jack Nicklaus winning for the sixth time at Augusta at age 46 in 1986 come to mind, alongside Ben Crenshaws second Masters title at age 43 in 1995. Not that Phil Mickelson, 41, or Tiger Woods, 36, are anywhere near ready for the Champions Tour, but after dominating golf for more than a decade, both have taken a step back in the last couple of years in favour of young guns like Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, and Dustin Johnson. Now, that doesnt mean that Tiger and Phil wont be front and centre when the action tees off at Augusta next week. With seven Green Jackets between them, the rivals appear to be peaking at just the right time for the first major of 2012. For Woods, the number 18 has always been a beacon and target, representing the career major victories record held by Nicklaus. Next week, as Woods plays the Masters for the 18th time, the spotlight has rarely been brighter on the four-time Masters winner and 14-time major champion. Woods finally broke back into the winners circle on the PGA Tour on Sunday with a five-shot win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. It was his first regular win on Tour since the 2009 BMW Championship. "He was confident, and he was in a place where he had won six times," explained TSN golf analyst Jim Nelford on Gamenight on TSN Radio 1050 this week. "Tiger has said many times that there are places that he really likes, and hes proved by winning five times in certain places, six times in others." And theres no question that Augusta National has always set up well for Woods. Since his last win at Augusta in 2005, Woods has finished no worse than sixth in any of his six appearances. Even during the personal turmoil that surrounded his last two Masters tournaments, he finished tied for fourth both times. Mickelson is also not the winning machine he once was, but his recent success has trended toward spring events. He won the 2010 Masters, and last year captured the Shell Houston Open - the event played the week before Augusta. This year, Mickelsons signature moment came at Pebble Beach in February, where he shot a final-round 64 while paired with Woods (who shot 75) to overcome an eight-shot deficit and win his 40th career tournament. Like Woods, Mickelson is a perennial contender at the Masters. The three-time Green Jacket winner has finished in the Top 10 at Augusta in 11 of his past 12 appearances. His memorable shot in the 2010 final round from the pine straw through the trees on the 13th hole remains one of the most dramatic in tournament history. So in a field filled with younger contenders, how do Woods and Mickelson stack up? Most betting websites have the pair as co-favourites to win, alongside reigning U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy. But no matter who ends up winning, its hard not to imagine Woods and Mickelson playing some kind of starring roles when the final round unfolds on Sunday. Cheap Jerseys China . Algeria enters the match riding a wave of unexpected confidence after pummeling South Korea, 4-2, in Porto Alegre on Sunday. The Desert Foxes opened the scoring after 26 minutes as Carl Medjani sent a long ball over the top to the feet of striker Islam Slimani, who did well to split two South Korean defenders and touch it past goalkeeper Jung Sung-Ryong. Craig Buttons Four Thoughts on the FROZEN FOURThe four teams competing in this years FROZEN FOUR feature a combined 40 NHL draft picks. Craig Button, TSNs Director of Scouting, shared his thoughts on four of the top players to watch in the tournament: 1. "Johnny Gaudreau is the real deal – he has been the most dominant player in NCAA hockey since Paul Kariya."2. "There are many exciting prospects to watch, but I would pay extra attention to North Dakota captain Dillon Simpson, an Edmonton Oilers draft pick who grew up in Edmonton."3. "Québec-born Boston College defenceman Mike Matheson has really developed into a force on the blue line."4. "Minnesota goaltender Adam Wilcox has been turning heads with solid performances and some truly great numbers this season." wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
