I want to thank you all so much, I had a great time at the meet and this has been the biggest meet I have ever competed in, with 4 flights (wow). After being there all day, I was eager to hear the results and hoped I had done well enough to place and even more eager to see what kind of badass trophy you guys had come up with for winners of this extraordinary power lifting meet. I was very pleased to win first place in 198 and I even totaled elite. This was a great achievement for me!
However, there is some friendly and constructive criticism I would like to pass on and offer to you all.
This meet cost $100.00 to enter full power and $30.00 for an SPF membership and I also entered Squat only, which was another $50.00. This meet cost me $180.00 and that does not include food, travel and hotel expenses. I think it’s fair to say it was an expensive trip. ;)
With all due respect and with the aforementioned costs in mind, I feel certain I don’t stand alone when I say this... But I have to admit. I was very disappointed as were many of the other competitors to have received a BLANK trophy. I trained relentlessly for this meet and took pride in winning first place, but I don’t care if anyone ever sees this trophy because it does not indicate first place or anything else and it doesn’t even say SPF. For all anyone else knows it’s a last place/tried hardest/everyone wins type of trophy.
I don’t want you all to get the impression I’m upset about the trophy, because I’m not, it’s beautiful. But for such a well known and established organization. I just wish you guys would have taken more time with the trophies, because if we aren’t lifting for the money, then the grand prize is a first place trophy. I was advised I could send an email to Jessie and request the missing part, or call the trophy shop to get the appropriate sticker for my trophy. Which is fine, I guess… Just seems inconvenient.
