EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. MLB Jerseys China . -- After watching the leader of his secondary miss the entire week of practice with a stiff neck, Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is still holding out hope Antoine Winfield will be able to play Sunday against Arizona. That seems like a longshot at this point. Winfield was listed as doubtful Friday. Frazier said the neck injury improved as the week went on and Winfield would be evaluated Saturday before they made any decision on his status. If he continues to show progress, the Vikings could take the decision right up until game time. "Were holding out hope that theres a chance between now and what happens Sunday at noon," Frazier said. "Well see how he feels tomorrow when he wakes up, as well." Losing Winfield would be a big blow to a Vikings secondary that has struggled to create turnovers and make big plays during their 0-4 start. He is one of the best tackling cornerbacks in the league and moves from outside to cover the slot receiver in the teams nickel situations. Winfield was unavailable for comment Friday. If Winfield cannot play, Asher Allen would likely get the bulk of his snaps at nickelback. Allen has played sparingly in two games this season because of an injured toe. But he deemed himself ready to go this week. "The toe was kind of messed up but I think the whole training staff and myself felt it was good to just rest it and get it back so I could get back on the field," Allen said. Even after running back Beanie Wellss breakout game last week, the Cardinals will no doubt look to test the Vikings secondary with star receiver Larry Fitzgerald down the field. Chris Cook would start in Winfields place. Punter Chris Kluwe is the only other Vikings player who has a chance of not playing this week. Kluwe strained his right hamstring against the Chiefs last week. He said earlier in the week he expected to play through it, but the Vikings were still working out punters Friday just in case. "We have to make sure that if Chris is not where he needs to be that we have somebody in mind," Frazier said. Running back Adrian Peterson (ankle), linebacker E.J. Henderson (knee), centre John Sullivan (ankle), safety Husain Abdullah (pelvis), left tackle Charlie Johnson (elbow), safety Jamarca Sanford (knee) and safety Tyrell Johnson (hip) all were listed as probable. Louis Blues on Wednesday night. Kane, the teams leading scorer, was injured when he collided with St. Louis Brenden Morrow at 7:56 of the second period. Some thoughts from the NHL on TSN panel on Friday night: One of the things I liked about the Boston Bruins in this game is that when the Tampa Bay Lightning went to the 1-3-1, especially in the second period, they were able to step up and find ways to break it. They sliced through that 1-3-1, which they hadnt been able to do in previous games, because Tampa Bay had been playing a much more aggressive style. But Tampa got chasing; it is not very often youll see them miss assignments on the 1-3-1 where they allow open seems. Boston did a great job of navigating through the neutral zone, and there have been lots of teams struggle against the Lightning; we saw the Washington Capitals really stumble trying to go up against the 1-3-1. The 1-3-1 was not employed very much by Tampa in this series, but when it was in the third period - when they were laying back and hoping for a counter attack - Boston sliced-and-diced it just perfectly. Bruins dominated on 5-on-5 situations The Bruins really dominated this game in terms of offensive opportunity because it was a 5-on-5 game. And if not for Dwayne Roloson this game could have been a blowout in favour of Boston. But no penalties and no power plays, that doesnt play to the strength of the Tampa Bay Lightning. They are a power play specialty team, the Boston Bruins are a 5-on-5 team and they got 5-on-5 hockey. No penalties in Game 7 A big credit goes to the players on the ice because, yes, there were times when you could have said that might have been a penalty if you were calling it by the book but the fact of the matter is the players did a good job of staying within the lines and not getting too crazy. And Stephen Walkom and Dan OHalloran did a terrific job of letting them play, but not in the sense that the game started to get out of hand, where guys were tackling each other and golden opportunities were beingg denied because of fouls.dddddddddddd As I said the players did a really good job and the referees obliged and it was a terrific Game 7 because of that. Roberto Luongo faces a tough test against Tim Thomas The matchup with Tim Thomas is a great challenge for Roberto Luongo. Hes really been playing at the top of his game, but hes also been giving up that one bad goal here and there. Sometimes, it factors in the Canucks losing a game, sometimes it doesnt. When it does factor in and they lose the game, everybody points the finger at Roberto Luongo. But hes got that pedigree now, where hes won a gold medal in the Olympics. And now hes four wins away from the Stanley Cup, and you can tell hes feeling it too. The Canucks team speed could be their best advantage against the Bruins I think you have to make Vancouver the favourite going into the Stanley Cup Final, but not necessarily prohibitive, because the Boston Bruins are a really good hockey team. Having said that, I do believe the Canucks have one edge over Boston, and that is in the speed game. Boston is an elite team. Vancouver is an elite team. But Boston does not have elite-level speed – the Vancouver Canucks do. And that may be one small edge in this series for the Canucks. Their transition game is so quick, theyre able to get in on the forecheck. It doesnt matter what line it is. The Sedins have been getting to the net quickly with Alex Burrows. The second line of Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond and Chris Higgins is blindingly quick. And the third line has been doing all sorts of damage with lots of speed, with Raffi Torres, Jannik Hansen and Max Lapierre. And theyve got mobility on the back end. The Vancouver Canucks are an elite-level skill and speed team. Boston is an elite-level team, but they do not have elite-level speed. ' ' '
