PARIS -- Vancouvers Vasek Pospisil was ousted in the first round of the Paris Masters on Tuesday, saying he was "mentally injured" in a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 loss to Spains Pablo Andujar. cheap nhl jerseys . Ranked 32nd in the world, Pospisil was due to play Frenchman Gael Monfils, but he withdrew with a wrist injury. Pospisil had the momentum going into the match against No. 52 Andujar, who got into the draw as a lucky loser, after making the semifinals last weekend in Basel. But he said his head wasnt in the game Tuesday. "I had no physical issues," Pospisil said. "I was just burned out mentally. I was not ready to fight, Im very disappointed right now. Its true Ive had a great season but its disappointing to lose like that." Pospisil went down with 62 unforced errors, 38 off of his usually reliable forehand. His lack of fire was evident in the opening game when he dropped serve in the 37-minute first set, despite dominating Andujar with 12 winners. Pospisil rallied in the second set to take it with a pair of breaks but failed to keep up his intensity in the third set as the rigours of the demanding season began to take a toll. Andujar earned a 4-2 lead on a break but was then unable to easily serve out the win. Instead, the Spaniard lost serve leading 5-2 and missed a match point chance a game later as Pospisil hammered over an ace. Pospisil saved three more match points a game later before Andujar managed a passing winner to end the struggle. The 23-year-old Pospisil said that several months of travelling in Asia and Europe since the U.S. Open finally hit him. "Ive been on the road for eight or nine weeks, and Ive been struggling the last few weeks, even if I did well last week," he said. "It was definitely tough to play today. I didnt play well at all, credit to him, he played solid, but Im not happy with my game." Pospisil said hes anxious to move on. "Im bitter now, but Ive had a great year for sure," he said. "Ill try to forget this match as quickly as possible and look back on a positive year." His 32nd ranking is a career high for Pospisil, who now has a chance to be seeded at the Australian Open in January. He started 2013 ranked 128th. Pospisil said he will take a few weeks off before beginning his pre-season training in Florida. Tenth-seeded Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., opens play Wednesday against Robin Haase of the Netherlands. The Canadian star is vying for spot in the World Tour Finals in London next week. In other play Tuesday, Kei Nishikori of Japan put an end to Jo-Wilfried Tsongas bid for a World Tour Finals spot by defeating the Frenchman 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (7) in the second round while ninth-seeded Richard Gasquet outlasted Fernando Verdasco 7-5, 6-7 (6), 6-3 in another second-round match to stay in contention for the tournament in London. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Juan Martin del Potro and Tomas Berdych have already qualified for the tournament in London next week. There are still three spots up for grabs as Andy Murray withdrew from the season-ending event to recover from back surgery. In first-round matches, Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria rallied past two-time semifinalist Michael Llodra of France 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3. Kevin Anderson of South Africa, Marcel Granollers of Spain, Ivan Dodig of Croatia, French wild card Nicolas Mahut and Polish qualifier Michal Przysiezny also moved into the second round. cheap jerseys canada . -- Marcus Smart had an off game and Oklahoma State lost in a rematch with Memphis. cheap nfl jerseys canada . The Denmark international apologized for the incident on his Instagram account Tuesday, saying he was trying to force open a door to his gym after deciding to go for a swim following a night out with family and friends on Saturday. ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams and the public entity that operates the Edward Jones Dome are far apart in their plans on how to improve the facility. While St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is urging rejection of the Rams plan, his top aide said it is far too soon to sound the alarm that the city may lose an NFL team for the second time since 1987. The Rams proposal was released against their wishes on Monday, a response to the dome improvement plan submitted by their landlord, the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, in February. And the discrepancy is wide: The CVC plan called for $124 million in upgrades, 52 per cent of which would be paid for by the Rams; the teams plan called for a complete overhaul estimated by the city to cost more than $700 million, and it wasnt clear how it would be funded. Slay chief of staff Jeff Rainford said there are extremists on both sides -- some who fret the Rams are all but gone and others who say no public money should be spent to keep them. "The CVC is taking the middle ground, the commonsense ground, which is we want to keep the Rams in St. Louis but at an affordable price and in a way that makes sense for the people of St. Louis," Rainford said. Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster released details of the Rams proposal after open records requests from several media outlets, including The Associated Press, which contended that since taxpayers are paying $720 million over 30 years to fund the dome, records related to it should be open. The 30-year lease signed when the Rams arrived in St. Louis from Los Angeles prior to the 1995 season requires that the dome remain among the top eight of the 31 NFL stadiums or the team can break the lease at certain junctures, the next being after the 2014 season. Owner Stan Kroenke has been non-committal about the teams future if the dome isnt improved. The CVC plan called for things such as improved club seats, a massive new scoreboard and better natural lighting along the sides. The Rams plan calls for a complete overhaul: Construction of a new roof with a sliding panel that will allow in natural light; removal and expansionn of the brick exterior on the east side and replacement with a glass front; re-routing a nearby street; adding 6,000 seats; and better amenities. cheap jerseys. Rainford said that in addition to the projected $700 million cost, the dome would have to be closed for up to three years to make the improvements. Because the dome is part of the convention centre, the city would also stand to lose $500 million in convention revenue, he said. ""The mayor will recommend that the CVC reject this, but this is part of a dance and were very early in the choreography," Rainford said. The Rams declined comment beyond a brief statement from Executive Vice-President of Football Operations Kevin Demoff who said the negotiation process is "confidential under the parties agreements." The CVC said in a statement only that it is reviewing the teams proposal. The Rams said their plan would, among other things, seek to make the dome a possible home for the NFLs biggest events: It said the seating improvements "should allow the seating bowl to be economically expanded to accommodate a Super Bowl event." A sketch provided with the plan shows that the roof panel would not retract to expose the entire field but would open enough to allow natural light on game days. The proposal refers to it as an "operable roof panel." The CVC has until June 1 to reply to the Rams plan. Arbitration begins if no agreement is reached by June 15, and the arbitration process could last through the end of the year. Kroenke is a Missouri native who became minority owner when Georgia Frontiere brought the Rams to her hometown of St. Louis 17 years ago. But he owns an estate in Malibu, Calif., and unsuccessfully sought to purchase baseballs Dodgers, leading to speculation that the Rams could head west after the 2014 season without significant dome upgrade, likely at taxpayer expense. St. Louis has been through this before. The football Cardinals moved to Arizona after the 1987 season when owner Bill Bidwill was unable to get a stadium of his own. The football and baseball Cardinals shared old Busch Stadium. cheap jerseys ' ' '
