ESPN reports that Browner has been handed a one-year suspension for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy, the appeal has already been heard and Browner will not play for the Seahawks again this season. He was a three-time CFL All-Star. Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond III may also be facing a four-game suspension for substance abuse. According to the NFL Networks Michael Silver, Thurmond has appealed the suspension but is expected to drop his appeal next week in order to return in time for the playoffs. The report indicates the Seahawks are attempting to sign cornerback Antoine Winfield to help replace the suspended players. Cornerback Perrish Cox is also expected to work out for the Seahawks on Tuesday, Marcus Trufant worked out for the team on Monday. Still, hes been unable to hold a lead in either of his last two starts. "Its frustrating, especially after the last outing, not being able to hold the lead," Sabathia said on Monday. "Ive just got to be a lot better than I was." Sabathia stands a good chance at getting himself right, as he owns a 16-3 lifetime mark against the Os with a 2.97 ERA in 24 starts.
