VANCOUVER -- The B. Arizona Cardinals Online Store .C. Lions signed defensive back Ryan Phillips to a contract extension that will keep him with the CFL club through the 2016 season. The nine-year veteran was a CFL all-star last year after recording 36 tackles and two interceptions over 18 regular-season games. "Ryan is one of the veteran players that were counting on to show our defence and our team the kind of commitment, teamwork and selflessness its going to take to be a champion," Lions GM Wally Buono said in a statement. "As a four-time CFL all-star, including last season, Ryan continues to play at a very high level and I believe his greatest season is yet to come." The Seattle native hasnt missed a regular-season game since entering the league in 2005. His mark of 162 consecutive games played is the longest active streak in the CFL. "I cannot say enough about Ryans leadership and accomplishments during his time as a Lion," said head coach Mike Benevides. "Hes been with us for the better part of a decade and we will be leaning on him not only as a key component of our defence, but also as part of our core leadership group." Phillips has appeared in 13 playoff games and won Grey Cups with the Lions in 2006 and 2011. "Signing this extension is very satisfying for me for a number of reasons," Phillips said. "Having an opportunity to play in front of my friends and family is very important to me and Im grateful to the Lions for making that happen for years to come. "Im also honoured to play alongside some of the best defensive players in the CFL such as Dante Marsh, Cord Parks, Adam Bighill and Solomon Elimimian. We have a great team here and more specifically we have great defensive players that are not concerned with personal recognition but instead, simply winning championships." But it got the job done, and thats the only thing that mattered to Mike Dunleavy and the Chicago Bulls. At this point, the Bulls will take whatever offence they can get. Dunleavy banked in a three-pointer with 5.8 seconds left and Joakim Noah came up with a block on the other end, leading the Bulls to a 91-90 comeback victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. Dunleavy said he had to change the angle of his shot to avoid the reach of his defender, 6-foot-11 forward John Henson. "Hes so long so if I would have shot my normal shot, he might have got a piece of it," Dunleavy said. "So basically what Im saying is, I took a bad shot and it went in." Trailing by two in the final seconds, Chicago came up with a tie-up on the defensive end and won the jump ball, allowing Dunleavy to hit a high-arching 3 that banged off the glass, then in, for the lead. Noah then blocked O.J. Mayos shot to preserve the lead -- and a victory that appeared unlikely just seconds before. "You could see his rhythm coming offensively," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said of Noah. "Defensively, hes been terrific from the start of the season but offensively, you can see his timing is back." Noah scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds -- both season highs -- for the Bulls, who ended a three-game losing streak. Chicago scored fewer than 80 points in all three of those losses -- including one to Milwaukee in Chicago on Tuesday. Jimmy Butler scored 16 points in his return from injury for Chicago. "I felt all right," Butler said. "Rusty. Out of shape. Terrible. But Im glad my guys pulled this win out." Carlos Boozer scored 14 points and added 12 rebounds. Gary Neal scored 17 points and Henson added 15 for the Bucks, who appeared to have the game won when Khris Middleton hit a desperation shot with 29.8 seconds left. Instead, it was another disappointment. "It wasnt even really supposed to get to that point, but we made some mistakes, critical mistakes, and thats what happens," Henson said. And to make matters worse for the Bucks, a crowd filled with travelling Bulls fans made it sound like a home game at times for Chicago -- especially at the end, when Dunleavys shot set off a thunderous ovation. Mayo then fouled Dunleavy on a three-point attempt, and Dunleavy hit all three free throws to cut the lead to two. After a Milwaukee miss, Boozer made a game-tying jumper with 54.9 seconds left. Middleton then hit a desperation shot with the clock running out, giving Milwaukee a two-point lead. Butler was called for travelling on the other end and the game appeared to be all but over -- but it was only setting the stage for Dunleavys big moment. "He hit a tough shot," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. "It wasnt an easy shot. It was a contested shot. But Ill say it again: It should not have come down it (that). We were in position where we should have closed that game out." While Derrick Roses season-ending knee injury has garnered the most attention, it hasnt been the only critical injury for Chicago this season. Butler missed 11 games because of a toe injury and the Bulls are still without Luol Deng, who remains sidelined with a sore left Achilles. Chicago added some depth earlier in the day Friday, signing free agent guard D.J. Augustin. Augustin was scoreless in 11-plus minutes in his Bulls debut.
