WINNIPEG -- With their top line scoring in bunches and their power play finally showing signs of life, the Winnipeg Jets may be peaking at the right time. Crockett Gillmore Jersey . The Jets rolled to a 5-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night -- their third straight victory, and second in as many tries -- to open a crucial eight-game home stand. The recently reunited top line of Bryan Little, Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd -- which was split up during the first half of the season -- combined for three goals (two of them by Little) and five assists. "I think our whole line is playing really well," said Wheeler, who had four assists. "When we were put together after the all-star break we made a conscious effort to make this thing work similar to how we did last year in Atlanta." Meanwhile, the Jets (29-26-6) scored a pair of power-play goals in the third period after scoring only twice with the extra attacker in their previous 12 games. "Its nice to finally see us put a few pucks in the net and get confidence," said Ladd, whose had an assist to go along with his power-play goal. "Its going to be such a big thing going forward here. The power play has to be here and hasnt been, for the last two weeks, effective at all." Ondrej Pavelec made 31 saves for Winnipeg, including 19 in the second period. Semyon Varlamov stopped 20 of 25 shots for the Avalanche (29-27-4). After struggling to score goals for most of 2012, the Jets have now put four or more pucks in the net in four of their last five games. "We didnt have a lot of opportunities to score goals, but we were patient, we waited for chances and then we scored," said Pavelec, adding that he feels much less pressure when his teammates are scoring more than one goal a night. The win pulled the Jets into a tie in points with Toronto in the Eastern Conference, but the team is in ninth place because theyve played more games than the Leafs.  Winnipeg also moved one point behind Southeast Division-leading Florida. Colorado is tied with Dallas for 10th in the West. "Overall we just werent good enough in all areas of the game," said Avalanche coach Joe Sacco. "I dont think we had everybody here on deck tonight. In a big game like that, I would have expected a little bit more intensity from more guys." Winnipeg took control of the game with goals by Evander Kane and Little early in the second period. Kane beat Varlamov with a quick backhander through traffic from the left circle for his team-leading 22nd goal. Little was the recipient of a gift from defenceman Erik Johnson, whose blind clearing attempt gave the Winnipeg centre a wide-open net to shoot at for his 17th goal of the season at 3:30. "Its a big loss this time of the year," said Colorado forward Matt Duchene, who returned to the lineup after missing 20 games with a knee injury. "I think we carried the play in the second period. But theyre a great team." Rookie Gabriel Landeskog scored the lone Colorado goal when he beat Pavelec low to the blocker side for his 15th of the season on his third good scoring chance of a second-period power play. But the Jets restored their two-goal lead only 46 seconds later when Kanes high shot ricocheted off the glass and Kyle Wellwood jammed it into the Colorado net. The Jets opened things up in the third period with the power-play goals by Ladd and Little "The third I thought we played real well," said Jets coach Claude Noel. "We got some good performances from a lot of guys and our power play came to life, which was good." Notes: Forward Eric Fehr returned to the Winnipeg lineup after being a healthy scratch for the last four games. Jets defenceman Zach Bogosian sat out his third consecutive game with an upper-body injury. ... Avalanche forward Matt Duchene returned to the lineup after missing 20 games with a knee injury. Justin Tucker Ravens Jersey . 10 shirt. The Japan forward was presented on Wednesday as an AC Milan player after signing a 3 1/2-year contract on a free transfer from CSKA Moscow. Joe Flacco Jersey . Parmelee hit a game-ending shot in the ninth inning and the Minnesota Twins overcame David Ortizs big night to beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6 on Tuesday. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Clayton Kershaw was asked to assess his performance against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night, and the Dodgers ace bemoaned the fact that he didnt have command of his fastball. Maybe if he did, hed have tossed another no-hitter. Kershaw still managed to follow his first career no-no by going eight marvelous innings, and Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier drove in a run apiece as the Dodgers scraped out a 2-0 victory. "It definitely wasnt easy tonight," Kershaw said. It only looked that way. "All night he felt like he was fighting it," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly explained. "His fastball command wasnt where he wanted it, but typical Clayton." Kershaw (8-2) allowed six hits and a walk while striking out eight. The two-time Cy Young winner hasnt allowed a run in 21 1-3 innings, spanning his near-perfect game against Colorado on Wednesday -- the only runner occurred on an error -- and his previous start against Arizona. Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth for his 23rd save. Danny Duffy (4-7) dueled admirably with Kershaw for six innings, allowing one run on four hits and four walks. But the left-hander was done in by a high pitch count, needing a season-high 105, and was eventually lifted to protect his surgically repaired shoulder. Eric Hosmer had a pair of hits for the Royals, the first with one out in the first inning to end any thought of Kershaw tossing consecutive no-hitters. Otherwise, their offence was sporadic, unable to string together enough runners to pose much of a threat. "Hes as good as advertised, thats for sure, every bit of it," Hosmer said. "Hes definitely got his game plan, which he sticks to the whole time. Hes got four well-above average pitches. The main thing about him is he gets ahead and attacks you early. Thats a guy you dont want to get behind on with great off-speed and a fastball that he can hump to 95, 96. Luckily, thats the last time we face him." The Dodgers plated their first run after Justin Turner tripled to lead off the game. He scored on a hard grounder by Gonzalez, whhich deflected off Duffy and toward second base for what nearly ended up being the games only run. Ray Lewis Ravens Jersey. Ethiers RBI single came off reliever Kelvin Herrera in the ninth inning. Duffy needed 29 pitches to survive the first, and he wiggled out of jams each of the next four innings, too. But while he was gritty enough to keep Kansas City in the game, a lineup that has struggled to put up runs for the last week failed him again. Kansas City has only scored 13 times while losing five of its last six. Los Angeles had lost all four of its games played at Kauffman Stadium, including the series opener Monday night, when the Royals beat up on Zack Greinke, their former ace. They had a much tougher time handling Kershaw. Showcasing his mid-90s fastball, power curveball and devastating slider, Kershaw at one point retired eight straight. And even when he ran into trouble, he slipped right out of it. Kershaw induced a double play after Hosmers single in the first. He rallied from a 3-0 count to Alex Gordon to strike him out with a runner aboard in the sixth. In the seventh, he got Justin Maxwell and Alcides Escobar on groundouts to leave a pair of runners on base. "Thats the best slider weve seen all year long," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "That thing had teeth with a bite." In fact, the biggest blight on Kershaws night may have been his walk to Gordon in the fifth inning. It was only the second hed allowed to a left-handed hitter this season. "I made some pitches when I had to," Kershaw said. "Tonight I was making a lot more stressful pitches. The no-hitter was stressful for more personal reasons." NOTES: Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (sore right shoulder) was scratched from the starting lineup. "Hopefully well have him tomorrow," Mattingly said. ... The Royals activated LHP Bruce Chen (bulging disc) from the 60-day DL, optioned LHP Tim Collins to Triple-A Omaha and designated LHP Donnie Joseph for assignment. ... Dodgers RHP Dan Haren faces Royals RHP James Shields in Wednesday nights series finale. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '
