Clay Buchholz's early-season struggles have cost him his spot in the Red Sox starting rotation.

 

Boston manager John Farrell announced today that the veteran right-hander will be moved to the bullpen, with Eduardo Rodriguez scheduled to step into the rotation and start Tuesday against the Orioles.

Gerard Piqué says Lionel Messi "carries a lot of weight in the dressing room" at Barcelona but insists Luis Enrique is in charge.

 

Piqué has told "El Partido de los 12" radio programme: "There is no dressing room without arguments. Luis Enrique and Messi had an argument, but it is all over now, and there is no need to go back over it. The relationship with Luis Enrique has always been good and friendly."

 

He added: "Luis Enrique is in charge more than Messi, of course. He is the coach, the boss, although Leo carries a lot of weight in the dressing room."

Piqué recently had a second child with pop star Shakira, admitted non-sporting problems had been a problem for him earlier in the season but said he was now back on the right track.

Casey Close, the agent for Greinke, told Dave Dombrowski that he wanted an answer by Tuesday night on a proposal that had been made to the club. Dombrowski, hedging his bets, then went to Price's agent, Bo McKinnis, with another offer and a similar deadline.

 

St. Louis had offered Price the richest contract in team history, a seven-year deal worth at least $30 million less than what the left-hander received from Boston.
