Output in the mining and manufacturing industries inched up 0.1 percent on month in January after expanding 2.4 percent in the previous month. The production gained for four straight months.
The slower growth was attributable to a fall in the number of business days due to the Lunar New Year's holiday that moved to January this year from February last year.
Production in the construction sector jumped 9.7 percent on month last month, with those for service and public administration rising 0.9 percent and 4.2 percent respectively.
The cyclical component of leading economic indicators was unchanged in January from a month earlier, but the figure for coincident economic indicators rose 0.3 points to 100.7 last month.
